Are you a senior aged 50 or over living in Sacramento, California? If so, you're in luck! Every Thursday, the Oak Park Community Center offers a unique opportunity to explore the world of pottery. This art program is designed to provide students with the chance to transfer to a four-year university or college, as well as to expand their skills in the visual arts. A wide range of courses are available, including drawing, painting, sculpture, ceramics, and other media. The city of Sacramento manages this center for the elderly, providing older adults with the chance to socialize, learn, exercise and access services.
In addition to taking art or exercise classes, seniors can use computers, play games, work out at the gym, and have lunch. This course is designed to give students the opportunity to study art subjects not included in the current course offering. This intermediate course offers individual exploration and research on small metals that function in two-dimensional and three-dimensional forms. In addition to playing and socializing in the center's activity rooms and living room, seniors can enroll in classes or participate in book discussion or support groups.
